I’ll give them credit…it’s a pretty cool “toy”. I say that because I don’t see these things ever getting on a battle field. Take one leg out…and it’s no good. However, for uses in heavy lifting, construction, or things like that…this could be very useful. However, and I’m by no means an expert, but from what I understand, most scientest have issues with a bi-pod design, because of the lack of balance. Or more so, how hard it is to balance.

I will give it some major credit though. It’s given me some ideas for a paintball tank I’m designing off of an old truck.

You all have to realize that even our modern day tanks where all at one point looked at as a waste time, money, and resources …right before they treaded across the german and italian trenches finally ending the stalemate. All I’m trying to say is that every new form of machinery has to start somewhere. We may create it for construction and later on, intergrate it into warfare, to be so narrow minded as to say that something like this wont go anywhere is assuming too much and thinking too little. I think something like this would help tremendously with the construction of bases on on the moon and mars. Fairly cheap, looks easy do assemble and disassemble, and somewhat light.

I think it may not be the most effective or efficient machine of its time but from my perspective of the video it looks like its guns are firing nerf balls at its target, an its movements…yeah it looks like they have a way to go but this is Still a prototype machine not the actual mech thats going to give it a run for its money I still would give them props for trying it, If they didnt do it I would of did it, all you need to know is how to work with hydrolics, an engine or power source, the gyro that keeps it Stable when walking, an onboard computer would be nice, an the count of weaponary, and the design of the mech.

Its just my opionion is all nothing more I understand where some are going with this yeah it looks like crap etc, its slow, the mech down right sux but give it some time.

Obviously it has stability problems, Like what Mr-Jim said. This is just the first step. I do like how the controls work for the gun. I dont see it being very acurate without a good computer tho.

They should really start a little smaller. Its cheaper, easier to put together, should be able to get it to actually walk if its smaller, imo.

They need to get it to tilt the body so it CAN take a step. Tho, the more moving pieces, the less stable.

I honestly dotn see a need for walking tanks. They would be much easier to disable. Lack fire power because of balancing issues. Also lacking speed, wich tanks excell at. Perhaps they could be used in construction type work, rather then Mech Warrior style.

Groovy. Did they test walking over curbs and uphill/downhill? The way it moves makes me think it’s gonna trip… And the operator will feel similar to a rider of those 19th century bicycles with huge-ass front wheels. Ouch.

Gunit needs to stop looking at naked men and think about this….

That Mechwarrior is not a final version. Its called prototyping. You think it would be impossible to replace anything on it? You have to start with something before you know what works.
Obviously you’re so smart, that maybe you could design, engineer and bankroll a project 1/10th the scale of this one. I’ll buy it if you do. I’ll but 4 of them.

So, in closing Gunit, put down the Yugio cards, forget about rolling a +30 for the lightning bolt, there are no Orgs, no Golems, and no wizards in real life.

omg that thing is a peice of crap, its half about to fall apart moving 3 feet.
