Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 Review - Megapixel

Oct 14, 2005 | Category: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7The ultra-compact Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 offers a 5.1 megapixel resolution, a completely internal 3X Carl Zeiss zoom and a large 2.5-inch monitor.

While the DSC-T7 has the same technical characteristics as the DSC-T5, with this model Sony engineers have miniaturized the camera even more.

The thinness and compactness of the design come at a price, however: places to hold the camera are few, and fingers with no resting place easily gravitate towards the lens, getting in the way of the image. The T7 is a camera that requires a bit of time to get used to.

With a body size that is so thin that it could almost be fitted into a credit card holder, the T7 still provides a Carl Zeiss zoom with a useful range and is able to produce high resolution images. In addition it offers a variety of scene modes and a program mode that gives the user a fair bit of creative control, surprizing for such a compact camera.

Sony’s DSC-T7 should please those that appreciate the miniaturization afforded by digital cameras, and it deserves to find a home in purses and briefcases, making it possible for owners to capture images at a moment’s notice.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 Review - Steves Digicams

Oct 14, 2005 | Category: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7The new Cyber-shot T7 is just over a third-of-an inch, making it Sony’s thinnest, fully-featured model yet. Though small in stature, the camera packs a powerful punch. It has a 2.5-inch ‘hybrid’ LCD screen, covering about two-thirds of the back of the camera, which is perfectly sized for framing, displaying and sharing pictures.

The T7 is a robust performer, turning in results nearly identical to the T5. From sliding open the lens cover till the first shot was captured measured an impressive 1.4 seconds; you will not miss many unposed spontaneous photo opportunities. Shutter lag, the time between depressing the shutter and capturing the image, measured 1/10 second when pre-focused, and lag including autofocus was an equally impressive 3/10 second; both of these times include about 1/10 second of delay in the live image on the LCD viewfinder. In single shot mode, images could be captured at a rate of 1 every 8/10 second with Auto Review off, or 1 per second with Auto Review on. Using flash, shot-to-shot time ranged between 1.5 and 4 seconds depending on subject distance.

And don’t worry about your battery keeping up with you; Sony’s Real Imaging Processor power management system lets you shoot full resolution images in seconds. At 240 shots per charge, the Cyber-shot T7’s InfoLithium® E series battery won’t let you down.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 Review - Imaging Resource

Aug 04, 2005 | Category: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7The Sony DSC-T7 is Sony’s latest subcompact Cyber-shot model, a device that we can safely say is like no other. Sony digital cameras span the full range of price and performance, and Sony enjoys a leading position among digital camera manufacturers, but the Sony T7 breaks new ground in slim camera design, and it will not go unnoticed in the market.

Sony’s Cyber-shot T7 is a truly full-featured digital camera, with a 5 megapixel CCD, a 3x optical zoom lens, a huge 2.5-inch LCD screen, and a full complement of options such as variable ISO settings, color saturation, contrast, and sharpness adjustments. Automatic exposure control offers point-and-shoot ease, with a handful of scene modes for more difficult shooting situations. Its diminutive profile has forced some interface compromises, including an external charger, a dock that offers no connectivity, and an unusual Interface Adapter to enable image offload and A/V out.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 Review - CNET Reviews

Jul 01, 2005 | Category: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7Thinner and lighter than any other camera in Sony’s T series, the 5.1-megapixel Cyber Shot DSC-T7 will appeal largely to the fashion-conscious snapshot photographer. Beyond its ultraslim design, other strong points include a large LCD, speedy performance, and easy operation. Unfortunately, its image quality doesn’t match the T7’s more attractive attributes.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 Review - Pocket-lint

May 23, 2005 | Category: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7Sony’s latest digital compact is even smaller than the last. Following in the footsteps of the T3 and T5 models, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 promises great photographs from an ultra thin body, but can it really achieve what it promises. Pocket-lint was one of the first to find out.

The camera without a doubt is small, measuring 92 x 60 x 15 mm (3.6 x 2.4 x 0.6 in) in its dimensions. Even loaded up with battery and a Memory Stick Duo card it weight in at 134g (4.7oz).
