Nikon Coolpix 7600 Review - CNET Reviews

Jun 10, 2005 | Category: Nikon Coolpix 7600

Nikon Coolpix 7600A pared-down version of the Coolpix 7900, this 7-megapixel, 3X optical-zoom Nikon Coolpix 7600 squarely targets the snapshot set with many of the same hand-holding features as its slightly more sophisticated sibling. The 7.1-ounce Nikon Coolpix 7600 is a little chunkier and doesn’t have the same aesthetic appeal, but it delivers where it really counts: helpful features and very good picture quality.

Controls on the Coolpix 7600 have a much roomier layout than on the 7900, thanks to the extra real estate provided by its smaller 1.8-inch LCD. The mode dial is on the back of the camera next to the zoom lever and is easy to ratchet through with your thumb.

Nikon Coolpix 7600 Review - PhotographyBLOG

May 30, 2005 | Category: Nikon Coolpix 7600

Nikon Coolpix 7600The Nikon Coolpix 7600 is a compact, stylish and easy-to-use point and shoot digital camera. The scene modes are both numerous and advanced in their implementation and will really help the beginner, and the in-built help system, although limited, will also prove useful. The Nikon Coolpix 7600 has a few new features that aim to make the photographer’s life easier, some of which work better than others. D-Lighting was very effective, offering an in-camera solution for revealing detail in the shadow areas of an image without also over-exposing the highlights. The Red-Eye Reduction feature also worked as promised, with no evidence of red-eye. The Face-Priority AF feature sounds like a great idea, but in practice was slow to use and often focused on the wrong object in the scene.

Nikon Coolpix 7600 Review - Steve’s Digicams

May 26, 2005 | Category: Nikon Coolpix 7600

Nikon Coolpix 7600The Nikon Coolpix 7600 is the successor to the Coolpix 5200 from last year and shares a similar compact body design and Nikkor ED 3x optical zoom, but increases resolution to 7-megapixels. Other differences from the 5200 include a larger more resolute 1.8-inch LCD, Nikon’s exclusive D-Lighting, and electronic Vibration Reduction technology for movie mode. It offers users point-n-shoot simplicity with its “Auto” exposure mode, and allows you to explore your creative side with a wide variety of pre-programmed scene modes. There’s also scene-assisted modes (Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night Portrait) that display framing outlines on the LCD to ensure proper framing as well as optimum exposure for select shooting conditions.

Nikon’s exclusive D-Lighting function is available in the Nikon Coolpix 7600, for use on images with excessive backlight or insufficient flash. At the touch of a button D-Lighting keeps bright areas bright while automatically adding light and detail to the darker parts.

After cropping and enlarging up to A3 size the Coolpix 7600 still produces clear and sharp images thanks to its 7.1 effective megapixle high-resolution image sensor and 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens, equivalent to a 38-114mm lens in 35mm format. Whilst Macro shooting enables the user to take close-ups as close as 4cm (1.6 inches)
