Nikon Coolpix 7900The Nikon Coolpix 5900 is a stylishly designed 5 megapixel compact digital camera that was first announced at the PMA show back in February 2005. The Coolpix 5900 is one of the first Nikon digital cameras to feature some new technologies, including Face-Priority AF (Autofocus), which automatically detects a face in an image and focuses on it, D-Lighting, which intelligently lightens overly dark images, and Advanced Red-eye Reduction, which corrects red-eye in most situations. Other standout features on the Nikon Coolpix 5900 include a 2 inch LCD screen, 16 different scene modes to help you take better pictures and a long battery life of approximately 270 images.

Nikon Coolpix 7900The cameras have an attractive design and boast a range of convenient functions and features that are highly advanced, yet easy to use.

To make taking photographs easier the Coolpix 7900 and Coolpix 5900 feature a large 2.0-inch LCD monitor. Both cameras have a new Graphic User Interface (GUI), which has been specially designed to allow the user to select functions on the main menu by either name or icon. There’s also a Help button, which can be pressed to display a straightforward explanation of each function on the main menu.

The Coolpix 7900 and Coolpix 5900 both feature a 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor ED lens with a focal range equivalent to that of a 38-114mm lens in 35mm format. The cameras have 7.1 and 5.1 effective megapixels respectively enabling them to deliver high quality images when enlarged to A3 (Coolpix 7900) and A4 (Coolpix 5900).
