Fujifilm FinePix E550 Review - DigitalCameraInfo

May 11, 2005 | Category: Fujifilm FinePix E550

Fujifilm FinePix E550The Fujifilm FinePix E550 has the potential to be a great choice, with its sizable CCD contrasted with online prices as low as US $287.95. The manual controls are great; they’re simple to set up and initiate. The LCD screen is large and easy to view, and the overall body and style of the camera is laid out for maximum efficiency. There are, however, several flaws in design throughout the body of this camera. The zoom lens barrel blocks the window of the real-image optical viewfinder, making its already low accuracy rating of around 77 percent even lower. Secondly, the mechanism on the flash feels like a loose baby tooth; flimsy and ready to fall out. Thirdly, the port cover on this camera is, when not in use, completely detached from the camera body. However, everything comes at a price and the positive attributes of the FinePix E550 strongly outweigh the few design imperfections. For the price, the expansive array of manual control options, strong resolution capabilities, and rapid speeds of the Fuji FinePix E550 creates a new class among sub-$300 cameras and ensures the camera will be accessible to many consumers this holiday season.

Fujifilm FinePix E550 Review - Cameras.co.uk

Feb 28, 2005 | Category: Fujifilm FinePix E550

Fujifilm FinePix E550The Fuji Finepix E550 is a 6.3 megapixel digital camera with a 4x optical zoom lens. The zoom lens is the equivalent to a 32.5 - 130 mm lens on a 35mm camera. The Finepix E550 is likely to appeal to anyone who is looking for a step up from a standard point and shoot camera, but does not want the expense of a fully featured, top of the range digital camera. The camera offers fully manual control and will also interest families where one member is looking for a more advanced camera that can still be used as a simple point and shoot model.

Fujifilm FinePix E550 Review - PhotographyBLOG

Feb 24, 2005 | Category: Fujifilm FinePix E550

Fujifilm FinePix E550The Fujifilm Finepix E550 is a 6 megapixel digital camera that retains the same design as the cheaper Finepix E510 and E500, but crucially improves on those models in a number of key areas. Most obviously it has 6 megapixels rather than the 5 and 4 of the E510 and E500. Perhaps more importantly than the extra megapixel is the kind of sensor that the E550 uses, namely Fuji’s Super CCD HR, which allows the camera to offer an interpolated resolution of 12.3 megapixels, plus a RAW file format. Other differences between the E550 and its cheaper siblings are a number of continuous shooting and focusing modes, greater ISO range, and better quality movie recording. The Fujifilm Finepix E550 offers a couple of interesting features to help differentiate itself from the competition. The Finepix E550 has a 32.5-130mm zoom lens, which is a lot wider than most of its rivals. The E550 also offers full photographic control in the form of aperture-priority, shutter-priority and manual modes. The Fujifilm Finepix E550 allows you to take full creative control if you desire it, or you can use the various auto and scene modes instead and let it make the decisions. On the rear of the camera is a large 2 inch LCD screen, and there is a pop-up flash with a range of creative flash modes available. The Fujifilm Finepix E550 is also larger than many digicams, which Fujifilm claims makes it more of a photographer’s camera.

Fujifilm FinePix E550 Review - LetsGoDigital

Feb 07, 2005 | Category: Fujifilm FinePix E550

Fujifilm FinePix E550The compact size of the Fujifilm FinePix E550 and the traditional design don’t show immediately what the camera is capable of. The camera offers ease of use and is very user friendly. It also offers many extra settings at the same time which gives the beginner the possibility to grow and enhance his photographic skills. The Fujifilm E550 is available for a few months now and is certainly worth considering as your new digital camera or to replace your old one! Fujifilm has done a lot of research over the past few years and also gained a lot of experience with the in-house developed Super CCD technology. The 4e generation Super CCD sensors have proved to be capable of putting down a good performance in practice. Fujifilm keeps developing and improving the Super CCD, and it must be satisfactory for Fujifilm that the design still catches on. This is a boost to keep on following this road.

Fujifilm FinePix E550 Review - Photoxels

Jan 03, 2005 | Category: Fujifilm FinePix E550

Fujifilm FinePix E550The Fujifilm FinePix E550 Zoom is one of the new generation of digital cameras that is addressing most of the complaints leveled against consumer digital cameras.

With 4x optical zoom, 6.3MP resolution and full exposure flexibility, the Fujifilm E550 provides very good image quality. And first for a Fujifilm consumer digital camera, noise is low at ISO 80 and ISO 100. Fujifilm has even provided a high ISO 800, though at a lower 3MP resolution, with noise level that is acceptable when it’s a matter of taking the picture or nothing.
